Mango is a versatile fruit, and can be used to whip a range of delectable desserts! But guess what? Most mango desserts available at your favourite confectionery shops are laden with sugar, and that can wreak havoc on your health. But fret not, because Bollywood hottie Shilpa Shetty has the perfect solution for us. Yes ladies, the actress has shared a recipe of mango mousse minus refined sugar. 

Since she is a fitness enthusiast, Shilpa is always conscious, when it comes to giving out recommendations to her fans and followers. 

Here’s what she wrote in her Instagram post:

Mango, the king of fruits, is back in season! I have always loved making the most of all the seasonal fruits. They all have their benefits, but my favourite are mangoes. They are high in fibre, which helps in healthy digestion. So today, I want to share this quick, yummy, and refined-sugar-free mango mousse ? recipe with all of you.”

How do you meet your daily protein requirements?

Ingredients:
  • 2 medium-sized mangoes, chopped 
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup 
  • ½ cup low fat cream
Method:
  1. Take the cream in a bowl. You can use an electric beater or whip manually with a wired whisk. 
  2. Whisk the cream on a bed of ice. 
  3. Beat it well, until the cream is soft and fluffy. Ensure you don’t over-whip or over-bear the cream. 
  4. Purée the mango pieces. 
  5. Add the mango puree to the beaten cream, and mix well.
  6. Pour the mango mousse in tall glasses. Cover and chill the mousse in the refrigerator for some 20-30 minutes; and serve.

Shilpa also shared the benefits of drinking this refreshing mango mousse which can convince you to try this one at your home!
