From work to taking care of their child, busy moms generally have a lot on their plate and hardly get time to do anything else. But one thing that will last them the whole day is eating healthy snacks. For busy moms striving to maintain their well-being amidst the chaos of daily life, opting for wholesome and nutritious snacks is not just a choice but also a necessity. Having nutritious snacks helps in providing optimal nutrition, and sustained energy to tackle the daily tasks and responsibilities of being a mom. Here are some healthy snack recipes for busy moms, which can enjoyed at home or carried to the workplace instead of opting for high-calorie unhealthy snacks.

Quick healthy snacks for busy moms

Here are some healthy snack recipes for mothers who don’t get enough to prepare lavish meals for themselves:

1. Chia berry pudding

Ingredients:

  • Greek yogurt (Plain Unsweetened) – 2 cups
  • Fresh berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)-1/2 cup
  • Soaked chia seeds- 2 tablespoons
  • Walnuts chopped – 2
  • Cinnamon powder – a pinch

Directions:

1. Take a spoon of Greek yogurt in a glass.
2. Now, add a layer of fresh berries followed by soaked chia seeds on top.
3. Add a layer of yogurt and refrigerate for half an hour.
4. Enjoy it with chopped walnuts, a few berries, and with pinch of cinnamon powder sprinkled on top.

2. Dates dry seeds mixed ball

Ingredients:

  • Pitted dates – 1 cup
  • Mixed dry roasted seeds (such as pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, melon seeds) – 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Flax seed oil for making balls

Directions:

1. Combine the pitted dates (can be soaked in water for 15-20 mins to make them soft) and mix dry seeds in a food processor.
2. Blend until the mixture becomes a sticky dough-like consistency.
3. Scrape down the sides of the food processor a few times in between the process to ensure all ingredients are mixed well.
4. Now, add half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
5. Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls between your palms using flaxseed oil.
6. Place them in an airtight container and store them in a refrigerator.

3. Avocado chia mango mojito

  • Ripe avocado, peeled and pitted – 1
  • Ripe mango, peeled and diced – 1
  • Fresh mint leaves 8-10
  • Lime juice (adjust to taste) – 2-3 tbs
  • Chia seed – 2-3 tbs soaked
  • Ice cubes – 1 cup
  • Coconut water – 1 cup
  • Extra mint leaves and mango slices for garnish

Directions

1. Add ripe mango and avocado in a blender and blend until smooth paste.
2. Add mint leaves, lemon juice and add ice cubes and give it a mix in a tall gas. 3. Now add the blended mixture of fruits on top and pour the fresh coconut water on top.
4. Give it a stir for garnish add on the chia seeds, mint leaves, ice cubes, and mango slices.

4. Makhana fruit chaat

Ingredients:

  • Roasted Makhana-2 cup
  • Mixed chopped fruits (such as apples, grapes, avocado, pomegranate, Guava, mango, etc.) – 1 cup
  • Cucumber chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped – 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice – 1-2 tsp
  • Chopped dry fruits(cashew, almonds, walnuts, raisins) – 2 tablespoon
  • Flax seeds
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chaat masala -1/2 teaspoon (optional)

Directions:

1. Combine the roasted Makhana, mixed fruits, chopped cucumber, and chopped coriander leaves in a large bowel.
2. Squeeze the lemon juice over the salad.
3. Sprinkle some salt, pepper, and chaat masala according to your taste preference.
4. Toss the salad gently until all the ingredients are well combined.
5. Sprinkle all the dry fruit, Honey and enjoy the refreshing, crunchy fruit chat.

5. Makhana and pop corn salad bowl

  • Roasted makhana -1 cup
  • Plain popcorn – 2 cups
  • Boiled Sweet corn – 1/2 cup
  • Cucumber diced – half
  • Grated carrot – half
  • Orange Capsicum diced – half
  • Red onion – half
  • Roasted groundnuts – 2-3 tablespoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped – 1/4 cup
  • Roasted Flax seeds- 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Chaat masala (optional) – 1 teaspoon
  • Soybean oil – 1 tablespoon

Directions

1. Pre roast the popcorn, makhana , and groundnuts and set aside in a pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the roasted makhana, popcorn, groundnuts, chopped veggies, and chopped coriander leaves.
3. Drizzle the soybean oil over the salad mixture and squeeze the lemon juice on top and sprinkle with flax seeds.
4. Add some salt and chaat masala.
5. Toss everything together gently until all the ingredients are well combined.
