I have long and curly hair. To add to my woes, its dry and rough in texture. So, as you can guess, managing my tresses has been quite an issue all life long for me.
Along the way, I’ve managed to learn a few tips and tricks to manage it better and make my life easier. One of them happens to be the double conditioning method.
I used to simply wet my hair, apply shampoo and wash it off till I came across this trending video on the internet. Now, I know we shouldn’t be falling for such videos but I was so intrigued! The video was about applying the conditioner twice during a single hair wash. At first, I was sceptical of applying such a huge quantity of conditioner to my hair. But, the internet had managed to convince me to try this method at least once.
If you have dry and curly hair, you probably already relate to my troubles. Dry and curly hair needs extra nourishment to stay hydrated and manageable. This method does exactly that. Here’s how to go about it:
Yes, this is all you have to do! Including just one extra step to your hair washing routine will ensure your tresses get the nourishment they need. I’ve been practising this for 4 months and my hair has been more manageable than before. What’s more, my hair is smoother and most importantly, feel and look healthy!

There are a few things you need to take care of during double conditioning. First of all, do not go overboard with the quantity of conditioner. Secondly, restrict the application only to your hair tips and don’t apply it on your scalp. Applying conditioner on your scalp can cause hair fall. The third thing to ensure is that you’re using a gentle shampoo and not applying too much of it on the hair tips because it can cause dryness, leading to split ends.
This method worked like magic for me! Hopefully, it will help you tame your tresses too.
