A hair rinse made from natural ingredients can go a long way in protecting your tresses. Yes it’s true, you can utilise some kitchen staples to keep your tresses healthy, and steer clear of common problems like hair fall, dandruff, and dullness.

The best part is you can prepare a hair rinse that is specifically aimed at dealing with your hair issues. So, if you’ve been dealing with hair loss and dullness, worry not because we have a hair rinse that you can prepare using only two ingredients — green tea and rice water.

Rice water contains amino acids and a component called inositol, both of which are responsible to not only strengthen the roots, but also repair any kind of damage. In addition, it contains vitamin E, which is known to arrest hair fall and contribute to healthy growth. On the other hand, green tea contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which nourishes your tresses like no other. In addition, it has conditioning properties that can add a healthy radiance to your locks, while also boosting scalp health.

So, all set to make this hair rinse?

Here’s what you’ll need

1 bag green tea

½ cup rice

Water

Here’s how you can prepare the green tea and rice water hair rinse:

Step 1: Add one cup of water to half a cup of rice. Let it sit for at least two hours.

Step 2: Heat one cup of water and add a green tea bag to it, allowing this mixture to brew. If you have loose green tea leaves, use one teaspoon. Brew it for 5-10 minutes.

Step 3: Strain the rice water. You should ideally retain the rice to use for cooking!

Step 4: Add the brewed green tea to the rice water. Your hair rinse is ready!

Here’s how to use this hair rinse for a clean scalp and shiny hair:
  1. Wash your hair the way you generally do! It is ideal to use warm water in order to open up the pores on the scalp, allowing for better absorption of the hair rinse.
  2. Apply the hair rinse to your hair, starting from the roots and then, along the length of your hair.
  3. Wait for 10-15 minutes before washing it out! You can, however, skip washing it out and let your hair dry, after applying this hair rinse.

Use this hair rinse at least once or twice a week, after washing your hair. You’ll see the results only after regular use! Wait no more, and make this green tea and rice water rinse an integral part of your hair care routine.
