Pregnancy can be a roller-coaster ride. You scale the highs with butterflies in your stomach and an excitement in your heart, but the lows can cause your heart to flutter. Popular actress Debina Bonnerjee, in the third trimester of her first pregnancy, has opened up about facing anxiety and fear around this new journey of life.
Debina, who is married to actor Gurmeet Choudhary, took to Instagram to share her state of mind as she gears up to welcome the new addition to her family. Her social media page is usually a window into her fun, vivacious side. But in this latest post, Debina touched upon a crucial, less-often spoken about side of pregnancy.
“Standing in the third trimester… with a swollen feet… many toilet runs… constipated… leaking bouts with sneezes and cough or even a hearty laugh… reminds me that I am pregnant… reminds me that this is real,” she wrote.
Behind all the happy dances and beautiful poses is an odd feeling of experiencing pregnancy after-trauma. A nagging shadow of fear and anxiety after the initial excitement,” added Debina, as she opened about her vulnerabilities as she embraces this new phase of life.
Her worries are as real and relatable as they would be for any mom-to-be: “Is my beta HCG Hi enough? Is it increasing at the desired rate? Is there heartbeat at the next ultrasound? Is the baby growing correctly? Are all the scans normal? Movements?”

Calling pregnancy a “blessing”, the actress wrote, “The anxiety, the fear cannot overshadow my gratefulness. Sharing my journey as joyfully as possible. What may… I am ready to overcome all the hurdles and meet you my baby.”
