Maria Goretti leaves everyone in awe with her passion and drive to live a fun-filled and fulfilled life. At the age of 51, she is inspiring many women to live healthy and meaningful lives by prioritizing their health and wellness needs through exercise and mindful eating.
For the unversed, Maria Gorreti is currently pursuing her passion for the culinary world. Her recipes are a treat on social media. After she earned popularity as a video jockey on MTV in the 1990s, her penchant for cooking led her to host various cookery TV shows such as Do It Sweet and I Love Cooking on Living Foodz. She got her culinary training from Tante Marie Culinary Academy, London, has been an active food blogger and has authored two books, “From My Kitchen To Yours” and “To The Moon And Back” too!
In a recent Instagram post, she shared her love for food and fitness, and how she balances them for her overall well-being. Once a running enthusiast, she is now able to do inverted postures and other complex poses for exercise with ease.
“A part of my fit body and very good metabolism, is thanks to my genes. The rest is all me,” shares Maria Goretti.
“As a chef , I am always trying out new food, new restaurants, travelling and learning new recipes. I have always enjoyed good food. But a few years ago, when I hurt my knee and was forced to stop running, I had to find a new way with exercise and food to balance it out. Well we all have different bodies and different metabolism. One size of anything does not fit all. So find what makes you feel good at the end of the day,” shares the multifaceted artiste, who is married to actor Arshad Warsi and is a mother of two.
Here are some healthy habits that help Maria Goretti maintain her fitness and glow while indulging in the food she likes!
Maria Goretti says she drinks about 2-3 liters of water a day. That is perfect for the amount of water a woman’s body needs every day! From impaired kidney function to weakened physical performance, dehydration can have a lot of side effects on the body. So, it is important to drink ample water.
As much as she loves her seafood, Maria Goretti also loves indulging in healthy vegetables every day. A diet that is vegetable-inclusive decreases the risk of digestive ailments, has a positive impact on blood sugar and also prevents the risk of heart disease and stroke.
It is believed that our body functions as per the rising and setting of the sun. It is healthy to have your breakfast by 9 a.m. and finish your last meal by 7 p.m. when the sun sets. That keeps the natural body clock under check.

This is an important ‘health shot’ from Maria Goretti! While she is a foodie, she also believes in eating healthy food to your soul’s content. She refrains from starving her body of food as it can rob her of essential nutrients and create a deficiency in the body.
“If you can do a full body cleanse once in a year, it’s a bonus,” says Maria Goretti. It detoxifies your stream flushes out all the unwanted toxins and gives your digestive tract the time to rejuvenate. You should also include colon-cleansing foods to keep your gut health intact.
This is non-negotiable. You cannot be fit just by eating healthy food. “Do some form of exercise that strengthens your muscles at least 3 times a week,” says Maria Goretti.

Comparison equals unhappiness and discontentment. To keep herself mentally sane and focused, Maria Goretti prefers to keep her nose out of everyone’s business and believes in keeping a close check on improving the quality of her own life.
