Sleep is one of the most important keys to good health. From playing a major role in boosting reproduction of cells that are involved in brain repair to inducing deep relaxation that help the heart to function at optimum levels, and being essential for maintaining the strength of our bones, ligaments, cartilages and tendons—a good night’s sleep does a lot for us!

It also helps with the production of new collagen, making the skin look and feel better.

On the other hand, lack of sleep causes more craving for unhealthy foods and increased opportunity to eat more that can even lead to overeating. Sleep deprivation also disturbs the balance between the appetite regulating hormones, ghrelin, and leptin. In some cases, lack of sleep can also indicate insomnia. Take this quiz to check out the symptoms of insomnia in you.
