Menopause marks a phase in a woman’s life where their menstrual cycle stops and their reproductive years cease to exist. This is when their ovaries stop releasing eggs and stop producing the hormone estrogen. The menopausal phase takes about a year or two once the periods get stopped. The period before the onset of menopause is called the perimenopause or pre-menopausal phase. The symptoms of menopause are more prominent during the menopausal stage and then slowly decline once they have passed this stage and go into the post-menopausal phase.
So, in case you’re not sure whether you’ve entered your menopause phase or not, take this quiz designed by Dr Manoj Kutteri, Medical Director at Atmantan Wellness Centre, for HealthShots. Go ahead and answer these questions!
