Type self care on the App Store and you’ll get hundreds of options that all promise to help you take better care of yourself. And we thank God for that because we so desperately need to make self care our number one goal.
From helping you sleep peacefully to letting you calm down each time anxiety threatens to take over–here are five popular self-care apps that are so worth the hype.
1. Aloe Bud
Aloe Bud calls itself a self-care pocket companion and rightly so. The app sends out notifications to you all-day long to pause and take care of yourself. Pinging you about simple things like drinking water, eating your lunch, and talking to your friends–this is a great app for everyone who finds themselves too busy to take care of themselves.
2. Pzizz
For everyone who struggles to fall asleep, Pzizz is the perfect solution. The app uses a mix of music, voiceovers, white noise, and sound effects to help you fall asleep. The best part is that the app learns what works best for you, and personalises your experience each time you use it.
3. Headspace
If you would like to finally try and work meditation into your daily routine, Headspace is the perfect app to start with. The guided meditations on the app are designed for specific things like sleep, work, and even dealing with relationships. So pick what you’d like to focus on, breathe in, and experience the magic.
4. Plant Nanny
As much as we’d like to stay hydrated, those notifications all through the day reminding us to “drink up” can get annoying. Which is where Plant Nanny comes in. Instead of asking you to tap on a glass or bottle each time you drink up, the app has a cartoon plant and each time you drink water, the plant grows a little. Come on, this is perfect!
5. Moment
Ironically there is an app to help you get off the phone and live in the present moment. Download Moment to track how often you use your phone and which apps you browse the most, and get coaching on how to reduce screen time in your daily routine. Less phone, more life!
