Chandigarh girl Harnaaz Sandhu made India proud earlier this month when she won the Miss Universe crown after 21 years. The 21-year-old model is the third Indian woman to bring hom e the crown after Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen, who won in 2000 and 1994. Table Tennis player Bhavina Patel, who was diagnosed with polio when she was all of 12 months old, went on to win a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. It was her maiden Paralym pic games, and she played against world number one Chinese paddler Ying Zhou in the women’s singles class 4 finals.
