1. Take life a little lightly

Circumstances in life will try to test you, make you overreact or respond to situations that don’t need your attention. The more serious we get about life, the more difficult all the tests will seem to pass. So, to avoid that mental toll, you should learn to take things a little lightly in life, and let life and feelings pass through you. Never allow any incident to make a permanent nest in your mind, robbing away your joy and happiness.

“Try not to personalise situations,” suggests the expert. If we start taking everything personally, we will tend to feel a heavy weight resting on our shoulders at all times. Be silly, be crazy, and laugh at life, and your mistakes the most. You are meant to enjoy the uncertainty and not take it all too seriously.

2. Never lose sight of the fun in all moments

“Never lose sight of the fun element in all the moments,” says the expert. We all are blessed with the power to exercise free will in every situation in life. It is always on us to see the light in every moment and laugh at our silliness. A simple positive shift in our perspective can bring wonders and joy to our life. Every serious moment in life can be seen through the lens of joy, and you will find umpteen reasons to laugh more.

3. Indulge in activities that bring a sense of joy

Dr Chhibber recommends adding activities to your life that bring a sense of joy and make you laugh. It can be something as simple as watching a comedy show daily, taking a walk around the block, or walking your dog, and connecting with your closest friends who draw positivity into your lives.

4. Connect with people who matter to you

The expert says, “Make efforts to connect with people who matter so you share some good moments.” Do make sure that by the end of the day, you spend time with your loved ones who matter to you. This invokes feelings of a sense of security, peace, and joy into your lives.
