Don’t we all give our houses a deep cleaning after a few months? That’s because decluttering is important for a conducive environment. But what if we say that your mind requires the same treatment? Yes ladies, there are so many times when we feel stressed or stuck, and just clearing out all the junk helps us function more effectively. When you remove all the unnecessary thoughts from your mind, you are able to think with clarity. And isn’t that something we all want?

Wondering how to deep clean your mind? Well, we have some amazing hacks for you.

1. Practice mindfulness

You may have often heard experts talk about mindfulness. So, what does it essentially mean? It’s all about staying in the present, and being focused on what’s happening around you. Instead of thinking of a thousand things at the same time, you should give your full attention to the task at hand. We know life is fast-paced and multi-tasking sometimes becomes a necessity, but let’s just say being more mindful will only help you in the long run. Try to let the background thoughts pass.

If it’s hard for you to practice this, we suggest trying out a mindfulness meditation to relieve stress. Try and focus on your breath and engage all your five senses, while experiencing things in your daily life. Trust us, it will make a world of a difference.

2. Write down your thoughts

It is often said ‘when in doubt, spit it out’. Now we don’t mean that literally, what we are trying to say is write as often as you can. Sometimes, spilling your thoughts on paper (or maybe your laptop) will ease your mind, just because you’ve let out all that’s making you stressed

Writing a journal is always a good idea, and you can always go back to it to understand what made you feel like that in the first place. Research says that journaling can really help to reduce all kinds of mental clutter, thereby helping improve your memory and other cognitive functions.

But remember journaling must be done consistently to see a difference. Try to take out 15 minutes every day. It will help you and how!

3. Indulge in the sound of music

Yes, you got that right. Music is a great way to deep clean your mind, and relieve you from all kinds of stress. In fact, music is said to have a mood-boosting impact, and helps to improve concentration and memory. What’s more, research suggests that music also helps to promote neuroplasticity, which is the ability of the brain to adapt.

You could also pick some soft tunes that help you work better, and then there could be music to pep you up after work! Whatever said and done, music can help in so many ways—you just gotta try it out!

4. Sleep well

There’s nothing that a good night’s sleep can’t fix, and which is why we are asking you to follow this tip. Sleep has been shown to improve memory, and if you didn’t know, lack of sleep can cause several issues. Yes ladies, it can also cause obesity and lead to brain damage (no, we aren’t scaring you), but it’s true. So, try and get at least 7-8 hours of sleep and enjoy better cognitive function.
