Bollywood celebrities regularly upload health and wellness tips on their social media channels. Recently, author and producer Twinkle Khanna shared a productivity hack through her Instagram handle. She talked about how she gets work done, and ensures that she remains productive.
Twinkle often posts about her writing, and this time around, she shared a productivity hack with her followers and fans. Amongst her fans, people with short attention spans stand to especially gain a lot from her post.
In her video post, Twinkle mentions a technique called Pomodoro, which is used to develop and improve focus and helps stay clear of distractions. Twinkle shared with her followers how you can get work done by setting a timer or an alarm for 25 minutes, during your workday. The trick is to work for 25 minutes straight and then take a break for 5 minutes, before getting back to work. Pomodoro can be practised using a classic tomato alarm or even mobile applications that can help you keep track of your productivity.
She captioned the post as, “a productivity hack that ensures you get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. Here’s the Pomodoro.”
Check out the post here:
The Pomodoro Technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo. Francesco struggled with completing his college assignments and developed the technique by committing to just ten minutes of focused study time. He used a tomato (pomodoro in Italian) shaped kitchen timer, and hence, the name of the technique.
Time management and efficient productivity are key to success in any field, and Twinkle’s post hits the right note by suggesting focused work sessions, with pre-defined frequent short breaks. This promotes sustained concentration and helps prevent mental fatigue and anxiety.
Twinkle Khanna suggested that you can do a variety of things in those five minutes, from exercising, resting, to even dancing! She asked her followers to repeat the cycle at least four times and urged them to try the technique for themselves.
Pomodoro helps break down complex projects into doable tasks with actionable steps. If you decide to stick to the rules, then you can make steady progress with your work.
This technique is really helpful for people who find that minute distractions end up derailing their whole workday. Pomodoro helps reach optimal productivity and is especially useful for people who end up overworking because of a lack of focus. So, in case you have a lot of pending work, studying to do, or assignments that need completion, then this technique can be the differentiator between completion and frustration.
So ladies, try this technique, and experience the positive results on your productivity for yourself!
