Research published in the journal Health Psychology also suggests that running when stressed will help you handle any stressful situation, and other challenges better. Further, it also helps in stimulating your brain, which helps to handle the stress.

Running also releases endorphins

Just like any other form of physical activity, running also releases endorphins, the feel-good hormones. The endorphin rush uplifts your mood, making you feel better and less stressed! Apart from endorphins, running also releases chemicals like serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain — these are happy chemicals crucial for uplifting your mood.

A study published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews also found that engaging in running can help alleviate stress and anxiety. They also found that running was moderately effective, when therapy is unavailable.
