Any kind of love story begins with falling in love with our own self first. But we often limit our love to a person or a place. If this thought made you think something, you are not alone. Bollywood’s fresh-faced diva Alaya F agrees with the idea of self love.
Her Instagram posts of taking care of her skin, hair, and even body are proof enough of her commitment to herself. Alaya’s contagious smile is a result of her happy state of mind.
This time again, the actress shared an Instagram video of herself with a caption announcing her self love indulgence. “The best, most life changing lesson I’ve ever learned is that loving yourself is the first and most important step to absolutely anything and everything. No matter how many amazing friends and family members you have or don’t have, nothing will ever be able to substitute your relationship with yourself.”
Calling her video a “Ted talk”, she adds, “I know it sounds cheesy but sach mein, try it and watch your life completely change. Apologize to yourself when you do or say something bad to it, thank it when it does something good, be proud of yourself and all you do and don’t forget to tell yourself that YOU LOVE YOU.”
Alaya was lauded for her performance by the critics and audience alike in her debut film ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’, starring Saif Ali Khan and Tabu. She is often seen interacting with her followers through her interesting social media posts. Her videos clearly signal that she is an advocate for inculcating healthy practices.
Ladies, if Alaya’s message has motivated you to appreciate yourself with your flaws and unfinished parts. We’re all capable of making mistakes and you don’t need to blame yourself for things that are beyond your control.
And above all, do not mistake self love for doing something selfish. You’re not alone in this, so make sure you don’t punish yourself for human traits and be kinder towards yourself. Be gentle and give yourself positive affirmations each time you pass the mirror! Okay?
