When it comes to our night time routine, most of us binge-watch Netflix after a long day at work. Don’t worry, we are not going to ask you to drop the idea but you should definitely limit the time you spend on it, so that you can do something which is fruitful for you. But is there a right way to have a productive morning? 

Well, sometimes the best way to have a productive morning is to get a head start on it the night before. It’s not a secret that most successful people spend their evenings or nights preparing for the next day. This way, they have their mornings free to get an early start on important work. 

Try implementing these night habits daily to make sure you’ll have a productive morning: 

1. Plan the next day

They say a task done today is one less task to do tomorrow! Therefore, first up on the list is this hack: spend a few minutes at night to streamline your morning routine. This includes things like deciding tomorrow’s outfit, setting a plan for the next day, preparing a to-do list, deciding the menu for breakfast, etc. This will make your morning time less hectic. 

2. Meditate at night

Practice relaxation exercises and meditate before bed. Try to meditate for 15 to 20 minutes before bedtime and you will feel a huge difference in terms of being able to fall asleep. Bedtime meditation helps you relax your mind, and will shut off your thoughts to  improve your focus and relieve stress. This way you’ll wake up fresh and stress-free.

3. Create a conducive sleep environment 

So many of us struggle with getting good sleep and often spend the night dwelling into our thoughts. To deal with this problem, establish a consistent and relaxing environment for sleep in your bedroom. A good night’s sleep enhances your creativity and boosts your productivity and efficiency at work. So, try to get enough sleep.

4. Ditch alcohol and excess food before bedtime

Avoid consuming snacks or meals as well as alcohol close to bedtime. Otherwise, alcohol and bedtime snacks can disturb your body clock, causing sleeplessness, anxiety and nightmares. These factors can decrease sleep quality, thereby affecting your productivity. 

5. Practice journaling

At a time when mental health problems are on the rise, the idea of journaling holds a very significant place in your life. Harvard Medical School found journaling to be a super effective way to ease stress, trauma, and anxiety. Benefits of journaling range from increased happiness to higher productivity and from increased quality of sleep to clearer thinking— no wonder that journaling is a common habit of many highly successful people.

6. Set goals and priorities

Beyond setting a plan for the next day, try to set certain goals and priorities that are important for you. By setting goals, you’re making a statement about what you wish to accomplish. 7. Become a morning person

Yes, your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day. Although getting up early is not automatically going to make you more productive, it will help you have extra time in the morning, so you can prepare your breakfast and complete your pending tasks, so you don’t have to rush through your routine. Simply put, waking up early is great to achieve organized and strategic thinking.
