Just stay calm and be in peace – sigh! We all know that this is easier said than done. That’s because peace is the hardest thing to attain at this point. We are surrounded by negative news, views, and to top it all, being restricted in our homes has made it all worse. 

But having said all of that, this is the most crucial time during which we need to maintain our peace of mind.

The reason is pretty simple. If you lose your peace of mind and god forbid, if you get infected by this deadly virus, you are going to be in serious trouble. There have been various make or break cases of covid-19 patients, wherein their state of mind has made all the difference.

That’s why it is high time you learn the art of preserving your peace of mind. No doubt, it’s not going to be easy, but once you get a hang of it, worry not it will be a piece of cake.

Here are seven things that you can focus on to preserve your peace

1. Limit mindless scrolling

We all love to mindlessly scroll through those reels on Insta. They might serve a purpose for a little while, but infinite scrolling can also lead to insomnia that can stress you big time. All this happens because of the blue light that is emitted from these gadgets. This blue light impacts the formation of melatonin, which induces sleep.

The inability to sleep can be caused by the lack of productivity. No one can be a happy soul; if they do not do things that utilise their energy. That’s why to stay at peace, limit mindless scrolling.

2. Move your body

It is a proven fact that exercising helps in boosting the happy hormones in your body. So, take some time out. If that’s not possible, try to take breaks between work, and move around rather than just lying down or sitting all day.

3. Start focusing on things that are in your control

There are a lot of things that are not in your control, therefore, there is no point in wasting your time on those. But more than that, there are things that are totally in your control, so you must focus all your energy towards those things. This will make you more productive, and who knows, you might achieve your peace of mind?

4. Be very conscious while doing that self-talk

Self-talk can have both a positive and negative impact on you. That’s why be very conscious to keep negative comments aside, and attune your brain to talk optimistically. In case you are unable to do that, the best thing is to keep yourself occupied.

5. Maintain some personal boundaries

The biggest problem with some of us is that we forget that every relation has a boundary. The moment that’s crossed, your peace of mind goes for a toss. That’s because at times, these boundaries limit you to do what you actually want to, and that can impact you emotionally.

6. Don’t choke your to-do list

Only your boss can like a long to-do list. But in doing so, you forget that you only have four to five productive hours to accomplish that. If your to-do list is not prepared properly, basically, without prioritising, then it will exhaust you both mentally and physically. And in the end, you will be left all stressed out.

So, segregate your tasks on the basis of priority, and divide them accordingly.

We are all hell bent on thinking about the future that we forget to think about our present. If you are organized and happy in your present, only then will you be able to plan for a beautiful future.
