Types of rejection

There are two different types of rejection:

1. Rejection by others

In the first case, rejection occurs when someone rejects you or your ideas. This
can happen because they do not like what you have done, said, written, created,
or thought about. When another person rejects you, you feel bad about yourself,
and you start thinking about what went wrong or what you did wrong. It is
challenging to recover from this type of rejection. Rejection can come from your family and friends too. For instance, if your friends do not want to hang out with you because you don’t fit in their definition of fun can upset you.

2. Rejection by self

This happens when you reject yourself. For example, suppose you are trying to
change something about your personality or behaviour. In that case, you will
experience some rejection from the inside. Or maybe you are concerned about
your appearance and body image. Then you will feel rejected by yourself. These
feelings of rejection are common among individuals who suffer from eating

When your partner or friends are rejecting you, it can be excruciating and cause
feelings of anger, sadness, loneliness, disappointment, and fear. This type of
rejection is usually caused by a lack of appreciation or understanding of what you do or who you are.

1. Understand your emotions

All your emotions are valid, and you might feel sad, disappointed, angry, lonely, or fearful if this happens. You might even start thinking negatively about yourself. These thoughts will make you feel bad about yourself. To cope with this kind of rejection, try to know the reasons behind the other person’s behaviour.

2. Don’t be judgmental

Sometimes, you might feel ashamed of specific things you are doing or feeling.
You might get angry with yourself for making mistakes or not living up to your
potential. You might feel depressed and hopeless. You might think that you are
worthless. Remember to honour all that shows up, without judgment. To overcome this form of rejection, you should accept and reflect on the situation and find out why you feel so down. Think about how you can improve your behaviour and attitude. Instead, try to remember all the good things you’ve done.

3. Share your thoughts

Talk to someone you trust about how you are feeling. Always keep in mind
that there is nothing wrong with you. You are a sexy brilliant divine light.  When others reject you, you feel left out, and this can increase your self-doubts. Some people say that it feels like you’re walking around in a fog. You might feel confused and unable to think clearly, you have to release your emotions, and get detached from them.
