We’d go as far as saying that sex is undoubtedly an instant mood booster and can reduce stress on days that are particularly difficult.

We decided to talk to Fatima Alam, a renowned psychologist, to understand how sex can help in stress management.
Yes, sex is therapeutic in nature
“Sex is not just about pleasure. Just like food, sex is a necessary part of life. Apart from reproduction, sex is about intimacy and desire. We can’t deny the therapeutic benefit it has. Sex might be more than what you think you’re doing,” said Ms Alam.
Over the years, studies have shown that sexually active individuals are likely to have a happier and healthier life. From physical to mental well-being, you might just be benefitting from getting a little naughty.
Here are 6 physical benefits of sex
People who have sex regularly are likely to have a better immune system than those who do not. You see, sex helps the body produce more antibodies against bacteria and viruses, reducing the risk of multiple common illnesses.
“Vaginal blood flow increases during intercourse. The vagina gains more elasticity which results in improved bladder control, a condition women commonly face with age. It can also increase lubricity and improve fertility,” said Ms Alam.
