Leg pain during periods is a very common consequence for many women. Unfortunately, period pain doesn’t end with abdominal cramps. The onset of usual muscle soreness during the menstrual cycle will be just prior to periods, maybe a few hours to one day prior to menstruation and it will last for 24 to 48 hours. This will not require any medical help. Any pain that can subside with the help of a mild analgesic or with home remedies is normal, says Dr Divya. Apart from this, any stabbing or throbbing pain, or any pain which starts one week before the menstruation and lasts after the cycle is not normal. Usually endometriotic pain is very severe. It starts one week to 10 days before the menstrual cycle and lasts till the cycle is complete.

Losing blood while on your period can be exhausting, and this is why it is important to rest as much as you can. Getting seven to eight hours of sleep at night is a must.
Make sure to stay away from junk food, or food that have excessive salt. Foods that are fried must also be avoided.
