1. You’re not peeing after sex

You might think this sounds silly, but make sure you pee right after having sex. That’s because if you don’t, you might end with cystitis—an inflammation of the bladder. When you have sex, bacteria gets pushed into the bladder, where it can flare up into an infection. And once you pee, you flush all the bacteria out of your system, instead of letting it affect your bladder.

2. Your bathroom habits need to be better

A woman’s urethra is short and pretty close to the vagina, that’s why it is important to maintain proper hygiene. Always wipe your vagina from front to back after using the bathroom. When you do this, you prevent bacteria from moving from the anus into the urethra. Pull your underwear up only when you are clean and dry!

3. You are using too many products for your vagina

You might think feminine sprays and those vaginal washes are doing you good, but they could be the reason behind those recurring UTIs. These products smell great, but they kill the healthy bacteria in the vagina and keep the bad bacteria alive that eventually enters the urethra. And that’s why you end up with a UTI!
Vaginas are capable of self-cleaning, so messing with the balance will cause problems. Instead, use a gentle soap and water, and you’re good to go!

4. You’re dehydrated

Peeing is all about relieving bacteria from the bladder and urethra. Now if you don’t drink enough water, or are not going to the bathroom enough, you are inviting a whole lot of trouble. The golden rule is to drink enough water, so that your urine is light in colour. Dark yellow urine means you need proper hydration!
So ladies, make sure you follow these healthy practices, to keep UTI at bay!
