If you have a sore throat or have been suffering from constant bouts of cough then all you need to do is chew on a mulethi stick. When you chew on mulethi for cold and cough, its juice reaches your throat and soothes it, eventually curbing your coughs.

2. Honey, ginger, tulsi

We know that we have to drink warm beverages during a cold or cough but instead of just drinking plain warm water, make it more powerful by boiling some ginger and tulsi in it. Tulsi-ginger tea will help in opening up your sinuses and the addition of honey will relax the muscles in your throat to help you stop coughing.

3. Turmeric milk

Turmeric or haldi is an ingredient with anti-bacterial properties and is also rich in antioxidants. Having warm turmeric milk is a great immunity booster which will help provide relief from your cold and cough problem.

4. Salt water gargles

For this, all you need to do is heat some water until it is lukewarm and add 1 teaspoon of salt to it. Then gargle with this water and you feel your throat relaxing and feeling less sore. This will help in controlling your cough.

5. Vitamin C

Fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C are known to boost your immune system and protect you with cold and cough causing viruses. This is a good prevention method. Eating amla, orange or adding lemon to your water in winter will do a great deal in protecting you against cold and cough.
