So, we are here with a step-by-step guide on how to roast pumpkin seeds at home so that you can enjoy its health benefits!

There are many ways how to include pumpkin seeds in your diet but roasting them is the best way to have them. They are simple to make and you can make in a large quantity and store them in a jar.

Also, having them alone as a snack, as opposed to making a smoothie out of them, provides unadulterated nutritional benefits of pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seeds alone.

Even though roasted pumpkin seeds are easily available in your local stores or online retailers, why buy something with preservatives when you can easily make them at home and ensure the cleanliness and originality of products.

Step-by-step guide on how to roast pumpkin seeds at home:

Step 1

These tiny white seeds are present in the center of the pumpkin fruit when you cut it open. They are trapped in the web made up of pulpy threads. You need to scope out the whole thing and soak it in water.

Step 2

Leaving it in water for a while, will allow the pulp to separate out and the pumpkin seeds will float to the top.

Step 3

Once the seeds are clean, you can take them out. Spread them out on a flat surface and let them dry naturally. Leave them for as long as you can because the drier they are, the better they will roast.

Step 4

Once the seeds are dry, you need to peel them. This step is optional and can be skipped too. If you pinch the seed at the pointy end, it will crack open. You can remove the peels and take out the seed.

Step 5

Now heat up a pan with some ghee, olive oil or butter in it. Just add a spoonful of any of these oils and add your pumpkin seeds to it. Roast them until they turn golden brown. Turn off the heat and sprinkle the seeds with some salt and pepper and your roasted pumpkin seeds are ready!
