Korean beauty trends, which give women flawless, glowing, and toned skin, have taken the world by storm. If you are also a Korean beauty enthusiast, you must be familiar with the glass skin fad, in which skin seems clear as a mirror. A lot of credit for this goes to rice. Let us learn how to use rice for skin.
Here are the benefits of rice for the skin:
Being one of the primary ingredients in Korean products, rice helps to reduce the pores, brighten the complexion, tighten the skin and soothe the rough texture of the skin. It is a long-forgotten beauty element that can give you beautiful and glowing skin.
Health Shots spoke to Dr Navnit Haror, Founder and Director of Derma Miracle clinic, who explained the benefits of rice for skin.
Dr Haror says, “Rice is a very important part of our diet. It plays a crucial role in safeguarding us from various health-related issues. It is a cosmetic healing tool as well.”

He adds, “Rice and rice water are both considered the most effective beauty ingredients in a lot of skin brightening, whitening, and anti-ageing skin care products. In fact, it is useful to cure and prevent acne, remove acne scars, and can remove hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and age spots around your mouth, upper lips, eyes, and entire face and body.”
Here are 5 ways to use rice on your face:
You can add rice to your daily routine to get rid of acne and take a step forward in maintaining flawless and glowing skin.
1. Rice flour mask
Mix 3 tablespoons of finely ground rice flour.
Add 2 tablespoons of burned plant pulp together with cold water in proportion to make a thin liquid.
Apply this mixture over the face and neck.
Leave it on for an hour till it’s completely dry, then wash it off with cold water.
It will instantly soothe and regenerate your skin. Use this mask a minimum of once every week for best results.
2. Rice water mist
Boil rice, strain, and collect the water.
Allow it to cool down and store it in a small spray bottle.
You can also eliminate the boiling process by simply soaking the rice in water overnight and collecting the water the following morning.
Allow it to ferment for 2-3 days, then use the fermented rice water as a face mist in the morning after your shower and right before you go to bed.
