On a daily basis, we deal with a variety of hair problems. Some take less time to heal, while others can make your struggle seem endless. Dandruff is one such issue that can take time and we are constantly looking for ways to get rid of dandruff.

Dandruff is caused by greasy hair, which is an unpleasant condition. Have you been wondering how to remove dandruff quickly? Well, before you look for specific shampoos or other chemical-based products to treat it, let us tell you that some simple home remedies for hair are all you need to keep your tresses dandruff-free.

Here are five home remedies that will keep dandruff at bay:

1. Lemon juice

Lemon juice is a big part of dandruff treatment and helps to get rid of dandruff quickly.  A study, published in Indian Journal of Dermatology, points out that lemon helps adjust pH of the scalp. Applying 1 tablespoon of lemon juice diluted with 1/4 glass of water to the scalp as a pre-shampoo ritual may be the most effective way to eliminate dandruff. Its citric acid and antimicrobial properties help to remove fungus and grease from the hair. In fact, lemon can help control hair fall and make your hair look voluminous and strong.

You can also use orange, which contains vitamin C and has strong cleansing properties like lemon.

2. Tea tree oil

Another great dandruff home remedy is using Tea tree oil. That’s right! This study, published in Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, suggests that tea tree oil has anti-fungal properties that help get rid of dandruff.  Tea tree oil can aid in the removal of dandruff. Contrary to popular belief, oiling does not contribute to greasiness. Instead, it absorbs dirt and dandruff from the scalp. Due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, tea tree oil is the best oil to use. It can also improve blood circulation in the scalp and keep it healthy.

3. Coffee

Wondering how to remove dandruff quickly, then coffee might be your answer. Coffee is great for your skin and hair. It is used to exfoliate, which reduces dirt and grime. According to a study published in Microorganisms, coffee has the ability to clean and exfoliate the scalp, ridding it of bacteria and fungi that cause dandruff. It also contains antioxidants, which can fight free radicals and prevent hair damage.

To use, heat the coconut oil and add the coffee powder, mixing well to form a smooth paste. Allow it to cool. Apply it to the length of your hair, the roots, and the scalp. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes before washing your hair with a gentle shampoo.

It can also be used to remove frizz and dullness from hair. To use it, combine 2 tablespoons of ACV with 100 ml of water. Apply this hair rinse to the scalp and the length of your hair. Massage for 5 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
