Has it ever happened that you are running your hands through your hair but your hand gets tangled in your hair strands because they are so dry? Or you end up with a few strands in your hands because they break so easily? Well, these are definite signs of having split ends.

Split ends is a very common problem which is only increasing in these times because of the excessive use of heat and chemicals to make our hair look good. These things only temporarily make our hair look good from the surface but we end up damaging the roots of our hair. It is important that we give our hair the nourishment it needs with some natural products.

What are split ends?

Split ends is basically when the ends of your hair become frizzy, dry, brittle, and frayed. They start to look like a frayed rope which has a lot of roughness and messy appearance. The colour of your hair will also be more dull at the ends as compared to the rest of your hair. Split ends also lead to an increase in hair fall as the ends of your hair become prone to breakage. Exposure to extreme heat and humidity, and hair care techniques such as blow drying, straightening, and curling may cause split ends. They are also caused by excessive use of chemical hair products.

1. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a solution to many of our hair problems like dryness, dandruff, hair fall and yes of course split ends. Massage your hair and scalp with coconut oil for 10-15 minutes and then keep it on for 2 hours so that your scalp and roots can absorb the oil nutrients. Wash off with a mild cleanser.

2. Honey

Honey acts as a natural conditioner for our hair and as a result helps with the split end problem. It livens them up and gives it that extra glitz and glamor. Add curd and olive oil into honey. Apply this hair mask and keep it for 25 minutes. After that, wash it with a minimal amount of shampoo.

Applying fresh yogurt to your scalp for 20 minutes and then rinsing it off with a shampoo will give the much needed moisturization to your dead hair. Be sure to not apply yogurt directly out from the fridge as that can give you a cold or brain freeze.

4. Aloe vera

Is it even possible to talk about good hair and not mention aloe vera? This is indeed a magical ingredient for our beauty as it is rich in vitamin E. Applying its gel directly to your scalp or mixing it in your oil or hair mask will give your hair a sheen.
