It’s good for your mental health to be kind to others. It offers joy and aids in your own development. It enables you to speak kindly to others, to be more compassionate, and to think more positively. That’s why everyone should be kind to one another! On World Kindness Day, let us share some ways to practice this beautiful gesture.

How to be kind to everyone? Follow these 10 tips:

1. Connect, don’t just communicate

Most people communicate to inform others about what is happening and some random life updates. Instead, you should try to make an effort to connect with others. You’ll feel more confident and gain a deeper understanding of people.

2. Share a story of kindness

When you share a story of kindness you crush someone’s fear, and you make this strange world more habitable for someone. Remember, personal stories create a human connection.

3. Take a keen interest

You might not be interested in your friend’s dog’s haircut, your boss’ child’s doctor’s appointment, or even your mom’s argument with anyone! But learn to take interest in these mundane things. Remember, these mundane things don’t matter but these people do.

4. Talk to someone who feels left out

We all know how it feels when we don’t know anyone at a gathering or at an event. That awkward feeling is unbearable. If you spot someone like that, then go and talk to them. Introduce them to someone you know. It takes just 5 minutes of your time but saves an entire evening for someone. This will create a sense of care for someone you don’t even know.

5. Apologize and mean it

This looks obvious but it is not. Most people apologize to avoid being punished, criticized, or labeled rude. Say sorry when you feel sorry and mean every bit of it. If you don’t feel sorry then ask more questions. But don’t fake it. It’s kind to apologize genuinely.

6. Pay it forward

Each of us has experienced many types of generosity. You’ve been guided in the right direction, given food when you were starving, and connected with the appropriate person. So, pay it forward and be generous to others.

7. Consider others’ needs

Once in a while, consider others’ needs as well without expecting anything in return. Seeing them how they feel will make you happier.

8. One compliment is what it takes

When you like something, compliment it. Always! Be specific and avoid thinking too much. Simply state what you enjoy and why. It’s like giving a like on an Instagram post but in real life. You can do it!

9. Call or message them when you think of them

Simple as it may sound but you must act on it. Do not wait for the right time. When you feel like talking, talk. Say whatever you want to say to your loved ones or friends. This will make your bond stronger with others.

10. Say no

Either out of obligation, they say yes, or they back out at the last minute. In your relationships, you can alter that. Say no politely and explain your reasons. It is kind to say no. It builds more trust in your relationship.
