Dr Kumar is a Consultant Psychiatrist trained in England. He has been based in Bangalore for the last 7 years, although he visit England on a quarterly basis for Locum work and continuing my professional development.
He is trained and worked in the national health service of UK for15 years.
He has worked mainly in adult psychiatry (Depression, Anxiety disorders, OCD, Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder, Addiction disorders) and also have extensive experience in working with children and the elderly.
He has developed particular expertise in psychotherapeutic interventions and have applied these in a general Adult setting both in outpatient and inpatient settings.
He has acquired qualifications in psychodynamic psychotherapy; interpersonal psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural psychotherapy. He has spent the last 7 years as a consultant developing these skills further. This has enabled me to practice truly in a holistic way.
His style of psychiatry is very much an attempt to complete the bio-psycho-social jigsaw, this informs both his assessment and the subsequent management of patients.
