Eid-ul-Fitr is an occasion to rejoice with loved ones and indulge in an array of delicious foods. It is also known as the ‘Festival of breaking the fast’ and is also dubbed as ‘Meethi Eid’. For the past month, several people around the world have been fasting for Ramadan which concludes with the highly anticipated feast of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Considering the current situation, gatherings are an impossible idea but you can still prepare delicious food at home to enjoy this festival with your family. Food on Eid adds more happiness to the celebration and enhances the bond of love between people.

So, celebrate the end of Ramadan with these healthy and delicious foods for your Eid-ul-Fitr feast:
1. Shami Kabab

When it comes to starters, chicken Shami Kabab is one of the best non-vegetarian snacks to be relished on Eid. Shami Kabab is prepared using succulent minced lamb and chana dal with spicy filling of onion, green chilies and coriander leaves. You may serve it with coriander or mint chutney.

2. Paan thandai

Eid-ul-Fitr being a summer festival and falling after the end of a month-long fast, calls for some delicious and hydrating drinks. Paan thandai is the best option for you as it instantly hydrates and satiates your taste buds. This drink comes with its own set of health benefits as it is loaded with probiotics thereby improving gut health, immunity, and constipation.

3. Mutton biryani

Eid celebration is incomplete without Briyani.  A delectable recipe made up of mutton, rice, and an assortment of spices is loaded with several nutrients.  Mutton contains iron, protein, vitamin B, E, K, Omega-3 fatty acids and amino acids, that make mutton biryani one of the healthiest dishes on this special occasion of Eid. You may team it with raita or spicy salad to end your craving for good.

4. Chicken Korma

For the main course, you could make chicken korma which is a delicious gravy dish made of yogurt, nuts, spices, seeds, vegetables and meat. This dish proves to be a great source of protein and probiotics, which improves your bone and gut health. You may serve it with paratha, naan, steamed rice or jeera rice.

5. Shahi Tukda

Eid is also known as Meethi Eid, and Shahi Tukda is a staple dessert across all Iftar dinners. Most people often break their fast with a hearty helping of Shahi tukda. Made with ghee, fried bread, thickened sweetened milk, saffron and nuts, Shahi tukda translates to ‘a royal piece’ or a ‘royal bite’ and we think there could not have been a name more befitting for a tasty dessert like this.

So, make your celebrations more special with these delicious foods and stay indoors for a safe Eid with your loved ones.
