When it comes to milk, nothing can beat the power of haldi doodh. Most of us have it at night every day for better sleep and other immense benefits. However, there is another ingredient which can be added to the milk to increase its nutritional value. A sweet and crunchy dry fruit, fig, commonly known as anjeer, can raise the bar of milk from boring to delicious. So, read on and find out about the benefits of anjeer milk.
Anjeer is a superfood that is extremely healthy. It is packed with nutrients like vitamin A, C, K, copper, magnesium, potassium, zinc, and iron. Moreover, if you’re on a weight loss journey, this can be a great addition to your diet. Not to forget, figs are diabetic-friendly dry fruits. But, what makes anjeer milk so special? Let’s find out.
HealthShots got in touch with Nandini Alapati, a dietician at Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, who listed some impressive benefits of drinking anjeer milk.
Combining anjeer with milk is said to be a healthy bedtime drink which helps to promote sleep. Anjeer milk has tryptophan, an amino acid. This tryptophan gets converted to serotonin. Serotonin, in turn, increases melatonin, a sleep hormone that makes a person sleep soundly.
Drinking anjeer milk is great for immunity, bones and teeth. It helps in boosting brain health, reducing inflammation, reducing joint and muscle pain, improves digestion, and metabolism.
Moreover, anjeer milk contains a good amount of fiber which helps to keep you full for a longer time and control your hunger pangs.
