A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food noted that participants who consumed grapefruit juice significantly reduced more bodyweight when compared to the placebo group. Grapefruit is low in calories but high in fibre and nutrients, aiding weight loss.

3. Guava

Guava is a rich source of protein and fibres which maintain the feeling of fullness and help with avoiding bingeing. Fully ripe guavas are also low in sugar, making them a really good fruit for weight loss.

4. Pomegranate

Pomegranate is high in antioxidants, nutrients, fibre, and low in calories. Not only is it a tasty fruit but also makes up for an excellent pre or post-workout option.

A review published in the journal Nutrition highlighted the positive effects of pomegranate on fat reduction. Moreover, pomegranate is also believed to lower triglyceride which is a form of fat.

5. Grapes

Researchers from Oregon State University found that the elegiac acid in red grapes can help in slowing down the growth of fat cells in your body. Another study published in the Journal of Obesity observed that a high dose of resveratrol, a compound found in black grapes, can stimulate the development of good fats.

Bananas might be available all year long but deserve a special mention on this list. You see, there’s a notion that bananas are high in calories and should be avoided in a weight loss diet.
