You might find tori or ridge gourd bland and boring, but this ‘wonder veggie’ offers a host of benefits! Of course, it really doesn’t look as exciting as the ‘saucy potato’, but hey ladies, let’s not judge a book by its cover, because here’s a treasure you don’t want to miss out on. 

That’s why we are here to patch things up between you and the good ol’ tori, so that you can reap these five wholesome benefits, and transform your health. 

1. Promotes weight loss
Say what? We think we’ve surely made a few jaws drop. But ladies, it is cent percent true that tori helps you shed that flab! Ridge gourd is inherently low in calories and is packed with dietary fibres that digest and absorb the fat properly. Now that means it’ll keep you satiated for long, and prevent you from bingeing on junk food!

2. Regulates blood sugar
Here’s another reason why we’re in love with tori! It keeps a check on the insulin production in your body, which means your sugar levels won’t go haywire. Tori contains peptides and alkaloids, so your metabolism will be accelerated. Moreover, this will help with the proper secretion and absorption of sugar in the body.
