When it comes to the fittest Bollywood celebrities, Shilpa Shetty is the first name that comes to mind. She is undoubtedly the paragon of a healthy lifestyle. In fact, she not only preaches a healthy way of living, but also regularly suggests how you can be fit without compromising on your taste buds. And here she is, back again with a healthy recipe of banana bread—which you can make even without eggs!

We know, bread is a staple that everyone loves. Add bananas to it, and you get a dessert which is also a great way to start the day. Banana bread is easy to bake, and Shilpa just made it healthier! Wondering how? Well, take a sneak peek into her recipe here: 

Everything you’ll need:

6 ripe mashed elaichi bananas
2 eggs or a mixture of 1 tbsp of flaxseed powder with 3 tbsp of water
3 tbsp almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ tbsp maple syrup
120 gm almond flour
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon powder
3 tbsp flaxseed powder
8-10 walnuts

Method:

  1. Mash the bananas in a bowl and the eggs to it. Alternatively, you can add the flaxseed and water mixture. 
  2. Add the almond milk, vanilla essence and maple syrup to it and then mix all the ingredients together until well combined. 
  3. When properly mixed, add the almond flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and flaxseed powder. (Note: if you are not using eggs for the recipe and using the flaxseed-water mixture, then you can skip adding flaxseed powder in this step.
  4.  Add the walnuts and give the batter a good mix
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased pan 
  6. Then bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Take it out of the oven and let it sit for 20 minutes, and that’s it!

Shilpa says, “Flax seeds are good for your system and keep you full. This recipe is also free from any kind of refined sugar or flour. And if you are vegetarian like me then you can replace the eggs with the flaxseed mixture.
