It’s that time of the year again, when it’s hard to keep yourself away from your favourite cold coffee. Unfortunately, we can’t relish it every day, because it’s full of calories. But what if we tell you that it’s possible? Oh no, we aren’t kidding at all. Celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala, who trains some of the most popular B-town beauties, has shared her version of a healthy and delicious cold coffee. Excited to find out?
Here’s what she wrote in her recent Insta post, “Today I’m showing you my quick, easy and delicious version of a Nutella Cold Coffee ???☕️❤️. The perfect drink to beat the summer heat! ☀️”
You, too, can make it at home, and enjoy it guilt-free!
1/2 cup of black coffee
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tbsp Nutella (you could use the dark chocolate vegan variety)
1 cup of coconut milk (you can use a milk of your choice)
Coffee contains caffeine, which is shown to increase your metabolic resting rate by up to 11%. It increases the fat-burning mechanism in your body, which means it helps to promote weight loss too! What’s more, a study that included eight participants showed a 13% increase in their calorie burning and two-fold increase in fat burning, thanks to the consumption of coffee! Amazing, isn’t it?
The caffeine in cold coffee could also help to uplift your mood, especially if you are sleep-deprived. A review of studies in over 370,000 people found that those who drank coffee had lower rates of depression. What’s more, research says that for every cup of coffee consumed per day, depression risk goes down by eight percent.
Yes, we are speaking about cold coffee! There are many people who do not have coffee, because it triggers acid reflux. The chances of indigestion and heartburn are much more when you consume hot coffee. Moreover, cold coffee contains crude polysaccharides. These carbohydrates, or chains of sugar molecules, boost the immunity of your digestive system, and decrease gut irritation.
