Gone are the days when you’d look at broccoli and make weird faces. No, we aren’t kidding. Something as healthy and nutrient-dense like broccoli can definitely be given a yummy twist with just a few minimal ingredients.

While broccoli doesn’t seem to have much of a fan-following for its distinct appearance and taste-especially among those picky eaters out there–this delish broccoli recipe by Chef Qu Xue Wen, Chef De Cuisine at TCK by The China Kitchen is sure to get you drooling for more. 

Let’s drop a hint: the broccoli recipe here boasts of dark and light soya sauce that imparts a piquant aroma and flavour in the dish. 

Not only can you savour it as a wholesome brekkie but also as a mid-noon snack that will be both satiating as well as healthy.

Ingredients:
250 grams broccoli florets
500 ml water (for blanching)
30 ml water for sauce
5 ml dark soya sauce
5 ml light soya sauce
3 gms ginger, shredded
3 gms onion, chopped
3 gms bell peppers, shredded
5 gms garlic, sliced
10 ml refined oil 

Preparation:
1. Begin with blanching the broccoli and arrange it on a plate nicely.
2. To blanch the broccoli, bring a large pot of water to boil with salt in it. Add the broccoli florets into the boiling water and cook for two to three minutes. Remove the broccoli using a slotted spoon and immerse it in a bowl of ice water. Pat dry using a kitchen towel.
3. Now heat refined oil in a wok over medium flame.
4. Add sliced garlic, dark soya and light soy sauce, water and boil it. Once it starts to thicken a bit, pour it over the blanched broccoli florets.
5. Garnish the dish with shredded ginger, onion and bell pepper and serve hot.

Note: This recipe makes for a serving size of one portion. However, you can always customise as per your taste and requirement.
