Whether it is a happy ending to your meal or the need to lift up a dull mood, ice-cream makes for the perfect dessert for all occasions. Unfortunately, digging into those big tubs of comfort is less pleasure and more guilt because the number of calories it contains is directly proportional to how yummy it is.
Sooner than later, it will show up on your body in the form of weight gain. Does this mean you should give on ice-cream? Never. Instead, find a healthier way to prepare it and enjoy it without having to worry about the calories.
To give your sugar craving a healthier option, we’ve got you a low-cal fruit blast ice-cream. It is dairy-free as well which means that even the vegans can consume this goodness without any guilt.
So, let the churning begin.
Here’s everything you need for your fruit blast ice-cream:
Half cubed musk melon
Half cubed mango
4 to 5 strawberries
1 diced banana
Half diced apple
20 ml soy/almond milk
5 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
Chopped dry fruits
Here’s how to prepare your healthy ice-cream:
1. Freeze all the cubed fruits, i.e. musk melon, mango, banana, apple, and strawberries, for 4 to 5 hours.
Tip: There is no hard and fast rule for fruits. You can add whatever you like. Just freeze them and make your own version.
2. Once they are properly frozen, put all the fruits in a blender and make a thick paste. Now add soy/almond milk, honey, cinnamon, and cardamom powder. Blend again.
3. Pour the mix in a bowl and freeze it again for an hour.
4. Once it’s frozen, garnish it with some finely chopped dry fruits.
Why is this ice cream better than what you usually eat?
This ice cream is a sheer novelty. There is no sugar, no preservatives, and you can eat it anytime you want without thinking twice about weight gain.
It is loaded with fruits which is not just refreshing but also helps in keeping your gut at peace. On the other hand, the ice creams that you might be eating from any of the commercial outlets are loaded with preservatives which are nothing but chemicals that help the product last for days.
Do you even know how harsh these preservatives are? Well, according to a study published in the journal of BioMed Research International, preservatives that are used in food items can affect our lungs and other organs, causing adverse effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rhinitis, bronchospasm, migraine, anaphylaxis, etc.
Also, watch:
The most common ingredient when it comes to preservatives is sodium benzoate which hits the production of the white blood cells which are known to fight diseases, as per the above study. That’s why, our immunity has to pay the price of our junk food cravings.
Hence, we stand for this homely ice cream that’s not just nourishing but will also keep weight gain at bay. So, do try it and tame your sweet tooth.
