A brand New Year is finally here, and it’s such a relief that 2020 has ended! And no matter what, it calls for a celebration, as you’ve successfully survived this crazy year! Whether you plan to step out or stay indoors for a house party, if alcohol is on the menu, then you must read this.

Alcohol is loaded with calories, and certain cocktails are even more unhealthy, as they contain added sugars and flavours. Oh and even if you’re on a cheat day to celebrate new years, even then you must stay away from these five cocktails.

1. Long Island iced tea

One of the most common cocktails, long island iced tea is made by combining five different liquors— equal parts vodka, tequila, light rum, gin and triple sec—with Coca-Cola and citrus juice. This potent combination of alcohol can definitely make you high, and leave you with a hangover. While it might seem like the perfect drink, you should stay away from this cocktail. This drink is not just calorie-heavy, but the variety and quantity of alcohol mixed in it can make you really sick the next morning.

2. Mudslide

Mudslide is made by mixing vodka, kahlúa, baileys and heavy cream and basically, it is a dessert. And just like dessert, it has too much sugar in it, and that means it has a high calorie count.

3. Pina colada

Pina colada is one of the most loved cocktails because of its unique taste, and if you like this too, then sorry to break it to you that it is one of the unhealthiest cocktails. Made from rum, coconut cream, coconut milk and pineapple juice, pina colada is loaded with calories, added sugar and fat.

4. Margarita

There’s not even a single person who doesn’t like a glass of margarita, though the preparation of this cocktail is very simple, as compared to other cocktails mentioned above, it still has anywhere between 200- 500 calories in a single serving!

5. Bloody Mary

The colour and name of this cocktail might attract you, but ladies, it might not be a good choice to go with! This cocktail can give you really bad hangover symptoms, if you go overboard. Moreover, vodka, tomato juice, and other spices easily make up for around 300 calories!
