I have always dreamt of having a fabulous figure, just like my favourite celebrities Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone! They have curves in all the right places, and boy, do they look amazing in anything and everything they wear.
It may sound ridiculous, but I am someone who can gain weight, even if I breathe! Yes, I have a big tendency to put on extra kilos, and that’s exactly why I try and do everything possible to keep my weight in check. Because it takes a whole lot of effort to lose weight (phew!).
Last month, I had a long chat with my BFF, who asked me to try apple cider vinegar for its several health benefits, including weight loss. I wasn’t too sure if I should, but I decided to go ahead with the plan. After all, there’s no harm in trying!
So, along with a healthy diet and an intense workout routine, apple cider vinegar became a part of my life. I dedicatedly consumed it every single day for a month, and I think it’s one of my best decisions. Apart from helping me lose weight, it did a lot more.

Before jumping onto the apple cider vinegar bandwagon, I decided to do proper research before buying the right variant. There are a million varieties online, so you really need to know what to pick. Several blogs and health websites recommended going for apple cider vinegar “with the mother”, and that’s exactly what I bought!
But what exactly is it? It means that the original bacteria culture that was used to make the vinegar was not filtered out during the manufacturing process. In a nutshell, the nutrients and bacteria were not distilled after the vinegar was ready. And how do you identify it? You see brown-coloured particles settled at the bottom of the bottle.
This variant of apple cider vinegar is said to help with weight loss, heart health, managing cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
After checking with my physician, I decided to start this practice. On the very first day, I decided to go for a day-long cleanse. In a litre of water, I added two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, and kept drinking it after every few hours. You might not like the taste in the beginning, but you will eventually get used to it.
The first day was not bad, although I kept running to the loo every now and then!
The next day onward, I began my mornings with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and half a teaspoon of honey, with a cup of warm water. I followed this practice every single day for a month, and here’s what I observed:
So ladies, apple cider vinegar truly lives up to its hype. Although I did not get my dream figure, I am much healthier today. One step closer to my goal, I’d say!
