There’s hardly a doctor or nutritionist who doesn’t make the case for eating a king-size breakfast each day. After all, the hearty brekkie is what gives you the energy to keep you going all day long.

But this doesn’t mean that you’ll dig into aloo paranthas, especially if you are on a weight loss regime. You need to ensure that your breakfast is wholesome (so that hunger doesn’t strike you down time and again) and weight-loss friendly at the same time.

That’s why we have got for you these weight loss foods that you must eat for breakfast:

1. Eggs
Scrambled, poached, sunny-side-up, or casserole–whichever way you like them, just ensure you have at least one egg daily. For weight loss, it is important to include protein in your diet–and what can be a better source of it than eggs? Apart from protein, eggs are also rich in good fats which will keep you energised all-day long.

Also, banana is a powerhouse of energy and is an excellent pre-workout food that you can munch on to train harder.

3. Oats

Oats are a rich source of fibre and according to a study published in the journal Nutrient, it helps in weight management. And if you are dealing with diabetes, then it will also keep your blood sugar in check. Not just that, it helps in increasing metabolism which will further aid in weight loss.

For weight loss, a study published in the journal of Nutrition, Metabolism, and Cardiovascular Diseases, recommends eating yoghurt for breakfast for 10 weeks to see some definite results.

5. Green tea
If you are missing chai in your brekkie, then try green tea instead. And if the taste is not to your liking, you can give it your own twist by brewing green tea with some ginger and cinnamon powder. You can also add a dash of lemon. Just ensure that the green tea you are consuming is caffeine-free and that you don’t put add any sweeteners to it.

You’ll be glad to know that according to a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, green tea is not just a fat burner but it is also a shield against cardiovascular ailments.

6. Nuts
For weight loss, you have to restrict our diets and opt for breakfast options that are less greasy. But at the same time, you also need to ensure that your breakfast provides you with optimum energy so that you can work all day long. That’s why including nuts in your breakfast is mandatory.
