Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has also experienced something along the same lines. Recently, she opened up about her battle with ‘manic depression’ post the release of her movie “Raees.”

In a recent interview, she opened up about her health struggles and diagnosis of manic depression. The talented star, known for her exceptional performances shed light on the challenges she faced after entering the Bollywood industry and the subsequent backlash she faced.

Mahira Khan’s manic depression was triggered after the smoking incident

Mahira Khan revealed on FWhy podcast that she battled mental health problems. It all started after her Bollywood breakthrough with “Raees.” The criticism she received post the movie triggered the mental health issue, which was later diagnosed as ‘manic depression’ by her psychiatrist. She revealed that she has been on anti-depressants for six-seven years. Last year too her condition deteriorated, she calls it “her lowest point.”

But she knew she couldn’t lose the battle, and she knew she had to “work through it.” Medication and the unwavering support of her close ones have helped her immensely throughout her struggle.
