Actress Hina Khan, known for starring in the hit Indian television show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. The 36-year-old says she is “fully committed to overcoming this disease”. Breast cancer was found to be the most common type of cancer in women in 157 nations out of 185 in the year 2022, according to the World Health Organization. Hina Khan shared the shocking news of her cancer diagnosis via a social media post.Β Addressing her fans, whom she fondly calls Hinaholics, and everyone who “loves and cares” for her, she wrote, “I have been diagnosed with Stage Three Breast Cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined, and fully committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun, and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger.”

In her statement, she has also asked everyone to respect her privacy during this time. While expressing gratitude for the love, strength, and blessings, she also reached out to her social media followers to share their “personal experiences, anecdotes, and supportive suggestions” to help her navigate this journey. She says that she, along with her family and loved ones, “remain focused, determined, and positive. With the grace of the Almighty, we believe I will overcome this challenge and be completely healthy.”
Celebrities such as Ankita Lokhande, Aamir Ali, and Sayantani Ghosh sent positive vibes her way. Lokhande said, “You are stronger than this. Sending love and lots of strength”. Aamir Ali called Khan a “strong girl”.
