Risk hai toh ishq hai! That’s the one-liner that comes to the mind on seeing actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra taking the plunge into risky pursuits. The fitness aficionado has not just gone ahead to get a unique haircut, but also tried a vigorous new workout routine of tribal squats.

Usually, the Bollywood celebrity, who describes herself as a ‘mindful yogi’ and ‘wellness influencer’ on Instagram, shares pictures and videos from her yoga sessions. Her family of 22.5 million followers love them all as Shilpa also explains each and every asana or move with care, apart from telling them all about the benefits. This time, she ended up giving her fans a twin surprise.

In a makeover of sorts, she flaunted an undercut buzz hairstyle which she proudly showcased when she tied her long tresses into a messy bun, before breaking into a high octane session of tribal squats.

She wrote, “You can’t live each day without taking risks and without getting out of your comfort zone: be it going for an undercut buzz cut (which took a lot of gumption, won’t lie) or performing my new aerobic workout: the ‘Tribal Squats’.”

Shilpa is seen using an exercise stepper for these unique squats which involve high intensity movements of the legs and arms. And girls, she did them like a pro!

According to her, these are the benefits of tribal squats:
  • They work on all lower body muscles.
  • They help to improve shoulders
  • They promote arm and leg coordination
  • Tribal squats help you elevate speed and agility
  • Overall, and most importantly, tribal squats work for the benefit of the brain and body.
  • She further explains, “The routine entails doing 4 sets of 60 seconds each with only a 30-second break in between each of them. Put in the effort consistently to see the difference because like they say, ‘No Guts, No Glory!,” concluded Shilpa after indulging in the “killer workout”.

Shilpa also tagged bodybuilder Yashmeen Chauhan, who had earlier shared a video of the same workout.

“Perform it with all your energy (strong arm and leg movement along with good music tempo) and I bet you will crash in a minute! Great HIIT Drill,” Yashmeen had challenged her social media followers.

So ladies, how about you do the tribal squats now?
