When it comes to fun fitness routines, Bollywood beauty Shilpa Shetty is no different. She is known to mix different types of exercises, and that’s what we love most about her! The best part is she doesn’t shy away from sharing fitness tips with her audience. In her recent Instagram post, she can be seen having a great time doing cardio, but bhangra style. This is what her caption says, “A different kind of #MondayMotivation today: • 6″ Platform Side-To-Side Shuffle.”
She goes on to say that “cardio is not boring, you need to explore.”
So, what is this workout all about? Shilpa says “it’s an extreme lower-body-focussed high intensity interval training drill, which conditions the heart and lungs as well.”
She adds, “Burn? more calories in less time. Making it fun by adding bhangra arms; and yes, adding ‘arms’ will burn more calories ?.”

If you want to do cardio in Shilpa Shetty style, make sure to perform three to four rounds of one-minute each. Rest for one minute after every round. Increasing the platform height will increase the intensity. If you are a beginner, start with 30 seconds per round on a four or six-inch platform.
Remember cardio doesn’t have to be boring in any way; you can do a lot to make it fun! Start out slow — you might want to do everything together, but that’s only going to wear you out. Stamina is not built in a day, so take slow and steady steps, and gradually incorporate different elements into your routine. And did we tell you that good music is a sureshot mood lifter? Trust us, it will help you carry on for long.
Also, try to alternate between machines and exercises. If you stay on the elliptical trainer for 45 minutes at a stretch, it won’t do any good. Instead, be on the elliptical for a few minutes, then maybe move on to the stepper, and other exercises. As they say, variety is the spice of life!
Or you could always incorporate interval training, just like Shilpa!
So, wait no more and ‘happy cardio-ing!’
