So what makes this combat sport such a great workout? Well, let’s find out:
By doing kickboxing, you train your heart to be more efficient. This helps to make your heart healthy and your lungs stronger because it maximizes the oxygen level in the body. And the more the oxygen uptake, the more benefits your heart gets.
If you’re trying to manage your weight, then try kickboxing because it can burn upto 800 calories per hour. And that’s huge! Kickboxing is a high-intensity and impactful workout that keeps you in constant motion, which is great for weight loss.
One significant benefit of kickboxing is it works as a stress buster. In fact, a study published in the Japanese Journal of Physical Fitness and Sports also suggests that you must try kickboxing to reduce stress. It not only helps you vent out frustration and anger, but also releases endorphins in the body, which diminish the effects of the stress hormone cortisol.
Kickboxing challenges several muscles in your body, and hence is a full-body workout. It targets mostly all muscle groups including shoulders, arms, back, abs, legs, and butt. This makes it a great combination workout that features both cardio and strength training.
If you try kickboxing, you will notice the increased balance and coordination as it strengthens your core, and improves reflexes and coordination skills.
