The new year is right around the corner, and what’s better than gearing up by doing some intense exercises? And for that, we think there’s nothing better than HIIT or high-intensity interval training. As the name suggests, the routine involves alternating bouts of high-intensity exercise that last anywhere between 30 seconds to five minutes, with shorter rest periods during a single session. For most people, this routine sounds super attractive, because it promises faster results through shorter workouts.

Celeb fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala, in her recent Instagram post, has shared some exercises that will fire up your muscles and make you all ready for the year that is to come. Are you ready to work out? Let’s go!

Check out the post for yourself!

Here’s how you need to do the exercises:

• Do a minimum of 3-5 rounds
• No rest in between exercises
• Take rest for 60 seconds after each round

Now, on to the exercises for a fitter you:

1. Alt Reverse Lunge to Star Jack

Karachiwala starts by standing with her back straight and stepping her left leg behind her, getting into the lunge position. She does this with the other leg too. Right after, she includes a jumping jack, as part of the exercise. This move can be repeated several times to feel the burn in your leg muscles.

2. Spiderman + Squat Thrust

As part of this move, Karachiwala starts in a plank position on the mat. Just like Spiderman, she brings one foot forward at a time and then jumps to return to a squat position, while being on her fours. This exercise will help you to strengthen your core and at the same time, work those leg muscles.

3. Teaser Alt Leg Drops

She starts by lying on the back with both legs long towards the ceiling. Karachiwala keeps her abs tight, as she lowers one leg a few inches off the floor. Next, she switches her legs. This exercise works on the abdominal area. It is important never to go very low with your legs.

4. Sumo Squat Curls + Angels

Karachiwala stands with her feet wider than hip-width apart, toes turned out, holding a pair of dumbbells between her knees. Bending at her knees, she lowers her body until her thighs are parallel to the floor. Next, she pushes herself back up as she curls the weights up to her shoulders.

5. Squat Jump + Jack

She starts with her feet together, with her hands by her sides. Keeping her torso upright, Karachiwala jumps her feet out wide into a sumo squat position. In this move, your knees should be bent 90 degrees, ensuring they don’t go past your toes. After doing this, perform a jumping jack to level up. Continue without pausing, until time or reps are complete.

So ladies, are you all set to flaunt your fittest best?
