Shilpa Shetty Kundra has vowed us with her liveliness on-screen but in recent years, her fans have discovered her fitness enthusiasm. From her debut in Baazigar till today, Shilpa hasn’t changed one bit. We’re not just referring to her happy-go-lucky nature but also her figure! Ever wondered how she manages this feat?

If you’ve been following her on social media, you probably already know that the actress is not just extremely hard-working but also diligent when it comes to fitness. Turns out, yoga is an extremely important part of her workout routine. She’s so dedicated to her practice that she’s added ‘Mindful Yogi’ as one of the titles to her Instagram bio. No wonder she’s so fit!

Shilpa shares her love for yoga with her fans by demonstrating one asana every Monday for some #MondayMotivation. This time, she’s here to educate us about ‘boat’ asana which is also called Naukasana. Her caption for this post says:

For almost a year now, in some or the other way, we’ve all been in rough waters. For me, the best way to beat the stress is to occasionally draw out the ‘boat’ pose or the Naukasana. It can row you out of many issues that your body may be undergoing.”


The health benefits of the boat pose

Honestly, there are so many ways in which this asana can improve your health. Shilpa talks about those too! She informs us that, “It helps strengthen the core and hip flexors. It also strengthens and improves flexibility in the hip joints and legs. It stimulates abdominal organs and improves digestion while improving the steadiness of the body…”

Want to know how you can get into the boat pose? Follow these steps:

Step 1: Lie down on the yoga mat. Keep your legs straight and your arms by your sides.

Step 2: Take a deep breath and while you exhale, lift your legs off the floor. Simultaneously lift your torso and arms off the ground as well. Ensure your arms are stretched towards your legs and not towards the ceiling.
