Do you remember the time when you would visit restaurants, and the server would come with a bowl of saunf with your food bill? Yes, it had some thought behind it. Typically, saunf is used as a mouth freshener, but it also helps you digest all the heavy meals you’ve had.

So how does saunf actually help? Since a long time, fennel tea has been used to treat constipation and other digestive problems. Antioxidants and the vitamin A, C and D content of fennel makes it a great remedy to cleanse your stomach. Not only that, it is also a rich source of minerals like copper, potassium, calcium, zinc, iron, and magnesium, which makes it so beneficial for your health.

Here are three ways how saunf water can actually help you to relieve constipation:

1. It is rich in fibre

Saunf is a rich source of fibre. There are almost two grams of fibre in a tablespoon of dried saunf, whereas a whole apple only has three-four grams of fibre! So, as you can see, it is a good way to up your daily fibre intake. Moreover, if you have constipation, fibre will help you with it, by promoting better digestion.
