From hosting cricket matches, working out to acting, there is nothing that this diva does not see through with perfection. Mandira Bedi’s fitness prowess and commitment to a healthy lifestyle needs no introduction. She is always pushing the envelope with vigorous exercise routines and even when gyms became inaccessible, Mandira continued with her home workouts.
Mandira often takes to Instagram to motivate and inspire her followers and fans to exercise and stay fit. Recently, she posted a video on Instagram of herself doing various weighted exercises, while BTS’s blockbuster song ‘Butter’ played in the background.
“This morning workout was #smoothlikebutter ?️♀️ ? What’s life without a little weight on your shoulders and off!?! ??”
Donning a black sports bra, black and pink printed training tights and sports shoes, Mandira performed the following workout with perfection and intensity:
Mandira starts her routine by picking up a dumbbell and holding it vertically by cupping one side of the weight while the other side hangs underneath. Standing with her feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, she begins the movement by shifting her hips backwards and lowering them down as her knees begin to bend. You can see how she keeps her torso upright and starts to bend her knees to squat. She then returned to the standing position to complete 1 rep.
This exercise engages shoulders, legs, arms and core muscles. She starts by bending and having her back straight, parallel to the ground. Holding a dumbbell in each hand, she lowers her hands almost touching the ground and then thrusts back up taking her arms overhead.
Mandira ends the video with the pulse squats. Taking a wide stance aligned with her shoulders, she cups a dumbbell similar to how she held one while doing the goblet squat. She then takes a stance as if she is sitting on a chair. She then descended, taking her hips below the knees and then raised the hips slightly above the knees and repeated the movement.
The exercises shown by Mandira are not just great for your lower body but also help tone the abdominal area, improve posture, strengthen knees and joints as they ensure adequate quantities of oxygen and blood to flow around these parts, thus helping to keep them supple and strong.
These seemingly simple exercises are more than what meets the eyes as it engages the largest muscles in the body and provides a host of functional and aesthetic benefits, including facilitating the toning of your butt. The mantra is to concentrate on form and meet the requisite repetitions for optimal results.
So, ladies, for those of you looking to do some great exercises at home, Mandira’s post will give you just the right amount of direction and inspiration!
