The many benefits of chakrasana

Chakrasana is popularly known as wheel pose, which is a deep backbend posture and helps to give flexibility and strength to the spine. Regular practice of chakrasana benefit your body in several ways such as:

  • The pose expands the chest and increases the lung capacity, which boosts the oxygen circulation in the body.
  • It helps to relieve stress and anxiety.
  • This asana helps stretch the core and arms, thereby increasing strength and flexibility.
  • Boosts the strength of the shoulder muscles and back and increases the elasticity of the spine.
  • As the chest is pushed out, it helps to improve cardiovascular health and increase energy levels.
  • This pose also reduces the fat in the abdominal area and helps maintain digestive and reproductive health.
A word of caution

Backbend or chakrasana is not recommended for people who are suffering from any kind of back injury or spinal problems. Those who are suffering from high blood pressure problems also should avoid this pose. Along with this, if you have pain in your elbows then do not perform this asana.

So ladies, take some inspiration from Mandira Bedi and try this asana to stay fit and healthy.
