The common perception about yoga is to do with ‘pratishta, parampara and anushasan‘ – honour, tradition and discipline – but there’s nobody to stop you from having a little fun with it. Actress Alaya F, who has become a yoga enthusiast over the past two years, is one perfect example. Her Instagram page is a window into her experiments with yoga and her fearless attitude in trying risky variations of the traditional science.
Her latest social media post on Instagram shows us just how much Alaya F pushes herself to explore yoga variations. And it is something she loves to “show off” to her fans.
“Welcome to the unglamorous world of a few of my fails! behind every great video is a whole bunch of these silly moments,” Alaya F captioned the video in which she showcases a montage of her epic yoga fails and falls.
Come, let’s watch Alaya’s video!
In a recent interview with Health Shots ahead of the International Yoga Day, Alaya F spoke candidly about her tryst with yoga.
Considering that she keeps sharing her twists to yoga asanas-becoming a turbo wheel one day and a human pretzel on another- we asked if she has sustained any injury.
“I’ve been quite lucky, for how little I take care of myself. That’s because I am one of those people who know how to fall out of things. There is also an inherent faith that it will be okay. It could be because of the gymnastics that I used to do that I know the correct way to fall out of something,” the 24-year-old told Health Shots.
That is usually where most people get very stuck and end up getting injured or sprained.
“When you fall out of something wrong, you may land on something you’re not supposed to land on. Since I know how to fall, there’s also lot less fear in my head. I also believe that if you just listen to your body, it will tell you how far to go. Anytime that I feel I am really overdoing it, I’ll be like. ‘Okay, that’s it! Now I won’t attempt this for sometime’. So far I’ve had no injuries,” she added.

However, that doesn’t mean she recommends anyone and everyone to pursue yoga without a trainer. Alaya herself undertook training in yoga during the Covid-19 lockdowns, and embraced the ancient science for her health and well-being.
To her fans, she says, “Do it under the supervision of a trained professional. You have one body. You have to take care of it nicely.”
Alaya often uses her social media to spread messages about self love, and shares her foodie indulgences unabashedly! She also ensures taking utmost care of her skin with facials, masks and more!
